I make my own light buy purchasing IR and UV LED's and building them myself, some of my bigger lights are really good for long distance and this new IR light is almost comparable to them which says a lot. Why don't I just use them you might ask, well for one they are much bigger and some of them need to be plugged in. I have a Sony camcorder with "NightShot" (0 Lux) and needed more infrared lighting so my camcorder could see better in total darkness. When I got them I used just (1) of the lights in our basement with the camcorder. Turned on the camcorder and could see about 10ft or so, turned on the IR Light and "WOW"! It was like turning night into day!! I could see the whole area with just one of these. Then went outside in back yard and tried all (3) lights and was amazed at how they just flooded the whole area with infrared light. My camara had no problems seeing my dogs running about about 50' to 60' away. I could not see them but the camera could with the IR Lights. Comes with a rechargeable battery but did away with that and did the conversion. Now instead of about 45mins to 1hour of use I get a little over 3hrs of lighting on 1 set of batteries.
